Waiting...Posted by Luis A. De Jesus R. (Mexico City, Mexico) on 7 September 2008 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. I spent a while waiting for a protest last Saturday that would gather thousands of people from across the city to cry out against the recent spite it crime. It's not the first time this has happened. Crime in Mexico City --and across the country-- has gone out of control with reminders of just how high and deep the masterminds and perpetrators operate in the political and justice system. Well, I got tired of waiting and headed home when I heard that several subway stations key to allowing me to return home would be closed late into the evening until the pending protests subsided. Funny thing is how people see you with a camera and begin to gather around you in curiosity --it made me feel safe.
