@Giovanni: The man to the left is transferring a spirit being into her...just kidding! The man is a sort of a witch doctor that believes in some sort spiritualism claimed to be rooted in pre-hispanic practices dating to the Aztec era. You will find people like him all over the Zocalo (Mexico City's major municipal square) with very long lines of people trying to rid themselves of a curse, an illness, or streak of 'bad luck.'
Amazing shot! I love the contrast of the modern and the ancient. And all the details on the medicine man's costume. Very cool shot, Luis.

This image really has something....... it is not only a striking piece of visual dynamics...... but it almost seems to capture ...... that moment where the spirit jumps from his imagination into the pot....... from pre history into her conscious mind......... to encapsulate something of their beliefs and insecurities...... the head piece and the heat, the bowl and the stance are ripped from the iconographic inca movie ...... and yet they are standing on an everyday urban street corner ........ this really is an amazing image ........ makes me want to jump on a plane and explore this phenomena myself......... Amazing!
