...as summer comes to a close.

On Sundays I frequent an ecological reserve just a few minutes from my business. I grew up in the suburbs North of New York City and strolls through wooded areas, streams headed for the Hudson, or nature hikes in Tea Town had been a part of much of my life until I moved to Mexico City close to 15 years ago. Places were I can sit and contemplate beauty and details like those in this photo remind me that life is much more than what I see, own, or aspire. I am reminded that I live once, of the miracle of life, and of my duty as a brother or neighbor on this ship I call planet Earth. We all come from the same substance and seed yet we let little and superficial differences get in the way.

In a more practical sense, I am also reminded that even in the dreariest of environments --as any urban setting can be-- there are good things one can set one's thoughts on.
