Central Park, New York

It's been a while since my last post. I have been with my parents in New York soaking in an old and familiar environment --this is my true home. While my portable hard drive gets packed with newer and recently taken images of my trip, I leave you with an image taken back in the Spring of 1997.

God willing I'll be back in Mexico next week and hope to post some more. Though the theme of my blog has been images of Mexico I might share some taken here. Just a small trip down memory lane. God, it feels good to be home.

I don`t know what you shot it on, but this shot makes me wanna cry. I haven`t been home in almost two years and I crave NY!!! Beautiful image! It has a look of a very old, the mid century may be, photography. Can`t wait to see more of your photos upon your return to Mexico (of NY :))

@Nataly: Hello, Nataly. So you too are a New Yorker? I am from Westchester County and my parents moved to Poughkeepsie in Dutchess County where I am right now. Just went to NYC last week and have spent the last few days traveling to state parks from Hyde to Albany. This is one awesome state and I am seeing it differently this time around. The photos was taken on film and scanned with bw processing in Photoshop to shift the original mood more to my liking. Thanks for dropping by.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of being home again is there? Wonderful photo - the high contrast reminds me of photos from the early 20th century. It brings forth a great feeling of tranquility.

@Damon Schreiber: Damon, a feeling that is hard to describe indeed. I returned yesterday to Mexico City and I am happy to see my wife and son again, but getting used to the city again is not easy. I am a lover of mountains and trees at heart. Take care.

i love this area of central park -- an excellent shot -- the high contrasts adds a bit of a heavier feel to this -- i almost didn't recognize the place!! :)
